General Enrollment Information

If you would like more information about Vernon Christian School including a tour of the
preschool, elementary, middle/high school facilities, or if you have questions about the

   God the Creator of all has made us in His image and redeemed us into Jesus Christ, to walk faithfully
   with Him and to work together as a community to reflect God’s light in the world. By God’s grace, on the
   foundation of His Word, and in support of the home and church community, our task at VCS is:

   Dear Prospective Parents:
   
   Thank you for seeking out information regarding Vernon Christian School. VCS is an
   interdenominational independent Christian school that educates students from 25 different churches in
   the Vernon and surrounding area. We have been in operation for over 30 years and are active
   participants in the greater Vernon educational community. VCS is made up of a pre-school campus, an
   elementary campus for K – 6 students and a secondary campus for students in grades 7 – 12.
   
   Our curriculum is taught from a Christian perspective and as a Group 1 independent school our
   educational program meets the requirements set by the BC Ministry of Education. Our teachers are all
   practicing Christians and certified by the Ministry of Education.
   
   The goals, objectives and vision are clearly outlined in the school’s vision statement but is also restated
   in our school motto: A Heart For God, A Mind For Truth. It tells everyone that at VCS we want all
   students to pursue a relationship with God and to know of his amazing love for them. We also want
   students to seek out his truth for them in the world.
   
   We trust that the information here and on our website will answer many of the questions you might have
   about VCS as well as help you make an informed decision regarding the educational choice for your
   child.

Interested in enrolling at VCS?

Step 1:

Have a tour of Vernon Christian School. Come in and walk through the school while it’s in
session. We’ll answer your questions about who VCS is and show you the students, staff and
facilities. To come in for a tour, please call or email Larry Simpson and we’ll book a convenient
time to show you around.

Step 2:

The Enrollment Package is available online or may be picked up at the Secondary Campus
office.
• Enrollment Package (Family Information Form, Tuition Structure and PAP form, Conditions
and Commitment of Registration, Legal Residency of Parents and the Consent Form)
• Student and/or Kindergarten Information Form. (one per student)
• Pastoral Reference Form (The Pastoral Reference Form must be received by the Head
Principal for the registration to be considered complete. The completed Pastoral Reference
Form can be submitted directly to the Head Principal’s office in person, by mail or by fax.)

In addition you will need:
• The latest report card for each student (except preschool and kindergarten)
• Copy of the birth certificate for each child
• Family registration fee ($500 non-refundable)
• Family tuition deposit ($500 post-dated to August 2, of the year of enrollment)

Step 3:

An admissions interview with parents/guardians will be set up by an Administrator. Once
complete and all the above items have been received by Vernon Christian School, your
enrollment will be considered complete. The file will then be date stamped to accurately reflect
when the information was received.
