Congratulations!
Congratulations are in order for Joanne Fennell, one of our grade 10 students. Joanne placed first over all in the BC Schools Senior Girls Rodeo this year. Her first place standing was the result of the following event placements; first in team roping and breakaway roping, second in the queen contest, fourth in goat tying and sixth in team. Joanna has combined consistency, dedication and a high degree of skill to achieve what has been a goal of hers since the rodeo season started this year.
Joanna is off to the National High School Rodeo finals in Gillette, Wyoming from July 18 to July 25 then back north to Virden, Manitoba for the Canadian High School Rodeo finals on August 6 to 8 . We wish her safety and Gods blessings in these upcoming competitions.
Congratulations also to Kearah Baylis who was awarded distinction in her Royal Academy of Dance Vocational Graded Exam: Intermediate Foundation

Fine Arts at VCS

I’ve long wanted to write an article about the place of the Visual Arts
at VCS and a few weeks ago it was made very obvious to me that now was the time. One of our weekly SC chapels in January, focused on Visual Arts, and was led by the grade 11-12 Visual Arts class. All of us fortunate enough to attend were blessed by the effort, thought, and creative passion that Mrs. Carisa Pattinson, our art teacher and her students displayed at the chapel.
