Board Update – Strategic Planning Process

“Seeking the Kingdom… with strategy”

Dear VCS Parents,

You may recall completing a parent satisfaction survey in December?  Well, the Board and Administration have been putting that data to work through a strategic planning process, as part of our leadership team’s rhythm of establishing long-term targets to ensure that we make progress in our school mission.

A more complete report on the survey results will be presented at the Spring Society Meeting, but here are a few key takeaways: Over 100 parents completed the survey, and across the questions, satisfaction rates were VERY encouraging!  90-98% of respondents are “satisfied” or “very satisfied” in areas such as the school’s academic program, efforts to support student spiritual growth, and extra-curricular options.  It came as no surprise that facilities received the most attention as an area for growth, validating our “Make Way” campaign to initiate expansion plans.

The Board engaged in a two-day retreat, drawing on this survey data as well as input from staff and administration, in order to draft multi-year goals, which will be refined over the coming months and published in the Spring as part of a 3-4 yr. Strategic plan.

This is one way that our leadership team is living-out this year’s theme and “seeking the kingdom” by pursuing God’s vision for the future of VCS, and committing to a comprehensive strategy to see it through.  Again, stay-tuned for the complete survey report and Strategic Plan document this Spring.

On behalf of the Board and Admin,
Matt Driediger
