Prayer-walk on our New Property

On January 18, we took possession of our newly purchased 7.5 acres, connected to the Secondary Campus.  While the legal process was formalized through contracts and signatures, we wanted to commemorate the event symbolically and spiritually as well.

In the Bible, land is a powerful symbol of God’s provision and blessing.  We see this as God places Adam and Evein a specially planted garden, and as He leads the Israelites into a promised land.  Even now, we stand on the hope of God’s promise that one day, His kingdom will come to earth as it is in heaven, and every square inch of creation will be under his full reign.

Whenever God’s people entered new land, it was also a time to stop, reflect, and recommit to Him – to recall God’s faithfulness and to dedicate themselves to walking in obedience. And so, that is what we did on Thursday as we physically occupied this new property with a prayer-walk, centered on the following:

  • Offering thanksgiving for the legacy of Christian Education at VCS, and the families who envisioned this day, even decades ago.
  • Pledging ourselves as God’s children to follow Him and His ways – individually and corporately.
  • Asking for insight and courage to use this space wisely, building His kingdom and equipping children to know and follow Him for generations to come.
