The VCS senior girls volleyball team proudly represented our school at the Provincial Volleyball Championships in Fernie Nov 30-Dec 2.
The lady Royals lost in the consolation final to claim 10th place in the 17-team tournament. While injuries continued to plague the Royals, players stepped up their game to give all they had.
The team got the opportunity to pray with other teams, setting aside competition and thanking God for the opportunity to come together in fellowship and community.
The girls also developed a great relationship with Kelowna Christian Knights extending back to the previous season.
This helped provide some much needed fan support for the Knights who played the local Elkford Celtics in the semi-finals.
The Knights returned the favour starting some “Let’s Go Royals!” chants while we played.
After the Knights lost in the finals, the Royals and Knights bonded by taking a photo together to commemorate their journey.
