Dear VCS families and student athletes,
Welcome back to school! Many of us are eager to begin playing sports and representing the VCS Royals in 2020-21. Coaches are excited to get in the gym or on the field to continue to develop our sports and team programs and represent our school with pride in our local, regional, and provincial community.
However, this year will be unique with challenges associated with participation in school sports. Currently, the model with school sports directed by the government and BC School Sports is limited to training and playing within school boundaries and with cohort groups only. All league play, tournaments, and playoffs have been suspended until further notice. Sports, and participation in them, will have modifications and adaptations.
Although it can be disappointing that the school sports season will be different, we are blessed to take this model and embrace the opportunity to have fun, to train and play in order to develop our skills so that when we are allowed to resume play with other schools, we will be ready to enjoy and compete.
We are to adhere to various sports ‘season of play’ as directed by BCSS. All athletes and coaches will have to adhere to the protocol guidelines concerning safe practices. All athletes must sign up at school to participate. This schedule below will start on September 14th.
|Lunch||Grade 6||Grade 6||Grade 6||Grade 6|

Please understand that changes to sports regulations and the training/playing schedule may change as we get more direction from BC School Sports. If you have any questions, Chris Bannick.
