Happy New Year.  We trust that you are all settling back into the school season as January has flown by. The Board has been busy this year already, as we have had our strategic planning retreat with support from (SCSBC) Society of Christian School British Columbia.  Two members of the Society of Christian Schools leadership team were able to attend and advise us as we took the information gathered from three VCS focus group meetings, and created our vision for VCS for the next five years. Once a final draft is prepared, it will be shared with the Society.

As we head into this new year, we are also looking for continued support from the Society in the form of new Board members. The season of expansion is upon us, and we are looking for new board members.  Previous experience with not-for-profit organizations or finance experience would both be assets, but not a requirement. If you would like more information, please connect with any current board member.

The 2019-20 grade 9 missions trip to Mexico has been postponed due to the travel advisory for the Puerto Penasco region.  This was not an easy decision, but ensuring the safety of our children was. We look forward to how God will direct us this next year for our missions trip for our grade 9 and 10’s.

Finally, we have been able to send our Principal to the Van Lunen Program, which provides executive leadership training for Christian school principals and superintendents through Calvin University.  Through this opportunity, Matt has been stretched and challenged, allowing him to experience growth and continued education.
