It is vital that our VCS community -parents, staff and students, plays an active role in keeping informed of the day to day at VCS. Throughout the school year staff, will use a variety of means to communicate with the home regarding student progress and other issues affecting their learning.
Here are a few communication tools you should be familiar with:
MySchool:
Online platform which provides real-time insight into your child’s learning and an understanding their progress. Take time to familiarize yourself with MySchool as it will be your connection to reporting periods, permission forms and academic progress.
Web Site:
Last year a new comprehensive website was developed. Parent Handbooks, information about the school, news and event info, calendar and staff/board/committee directory are on this informative web site.
VCS Links:
Our new school e-newsletter featuring important VCS news and updates. It is delivered to your email box once or up to every 2 weeks – as it is required. If you have not received a copy yet please contact info@vcs.ca
Emails:
Teaching staff or Admin will send emails to the homes of students as the need arises. These emails will provide an opportunity to discuss issues of concern or highlight student accomplishment and may require a response.
Addresses to note:
- info@vcs.ca – will now be used to communicate school-wide priority information
- ecoffice@vcs.ca – used to communicate Elementary Campus information
- scoffice@vc.ca – used to communicate Secondary Campus information
SMS
A short text to your cell phone that shares breaking news – i.e. school closures or feature a school initiative that needs your attention. We are committed to using this platform minimally. An exception would be if a situation occurs that requires timely updates. If you have not received a SMS from VCS and would like to be included in this feature, please contact info@vcs.ca
